Fosters Kraus Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning is a third-generation family company with over 50 years of plumbing, heating, and cooling experience in Linn County, Iowa.

Our humble beginnings date back to the 1970s’ when Mike Kraus opened up Kraus Plumbing and Heating out of a garage. In the late 70’s we acquired our first shop in Monticello, Iowa. In the early 90’s we acquired our second location in Monticello, off Locust Street.

Three generations of heating, cooling, and plumbing

In 2017, Mike’s son Brian took over the family business, with his wife and high school sweetheart Shelly. Together, Brian and Shelly have grown the business from a 6-person shop to nearly 60 employees. In 2021, Kraus merged with Fosters Heating and Air, and we are now proudly known as Fosters Kraus Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning. Brian and Shelly’s sons, Mason and Mitchell, are walking in their dad’s footsteps. They work full time at Fosters Kraus. We are proud to have many different family dynamic duos on our staff.
